This will be the first of many in the Get Out! Series. I hope it inspires you to go on your own adventures!
This week, my husband and our dog Bane went camping in the Siuslaw National Forest. Yes it rained, yes we got wet, and no we didn’t catch any fish, much to my hubby’s chagrin. But we made lovely memories, and had such an amazing time just being out in nature.
We arrived late and set up camp. For those of you who do not know, you can camp for free for up to 14 days on most National Forest lands. We were greeted by the most magnificent moonlight I have ever experienced, and were even lucky enough to see a thunder storm off in the distance. We were lulled to sleep by the sound of rain drops gently hitting the side of our tent. Perfection
I love arriving at camp after dark sometimes because you never know what view you are going to wake up to. It never disappoints.
We went exploring and made some new little friends, and found like a bajillion types of mushrooms!
My husband went fishing in the little lake, but no one was biting. Must have been onto us, but we had a good time anyways!
Siuslaw is just amazingly beautiful. Everywhere you look there’s another heavily forested road just waiting for you to explore it.
By the end of the day, we were all a little sleepy. But my soul was refreshed and ready to go come Monday morning!
