Is there a more perfect month than October to curl up with a good book? The weather is cooling off here in Oregon, and the cold makes me want to lay in bed with a good book all day long. But the question was, what to read this October? I went perusing my local used book stores and found these beauties that I’ll be reading over the next month. Check back next month the see what I thought of them!
The Art of Racing in the Rain: A Novel
by Garth Stein
I know without a doubt that this book is going to end with me in tears, but I’m too curious as to how a dog goes about writing a novel to let that stop me. I’m a huge animal lover, and I love reading. I plan to combine the two whenever possible!
The Alchemist
by Paulo Coelho
This book is supposedly all about following your heart, and finding out where you belong in this crazy world. What a coincidence! I am always listening out for my calling in life! This book has been recommended to me many times from friends and strangers alike. It was only a matter of time before I got my hand on this beloved novel.

Wild: From Lost to Found on the Pacific Crest Trail
by Cheryl Strayed
Sometimes the real world is too much, and you just gotta take an 1100 mile trek into the wild, you know? I feel similarly and that is what has put Wild on this month’s list. And as soon as I finish it, I’ll reward myself by finally watching the movie that is based off of this novel starring Reese Witherspoon.
I’m really excited about digging into these stories and letting you know what I thought about them next month!
What are you guys reading this month??
